Celebrando La Comunidad Day (CLC Day) is an event that allows the Carolina Latina/o Collaborative to create stronger bonds with the surrounding Latina/o community. This year’s event is scheduled for the spring semester.

The holidays are often times we clean out our closets to make room for new clothes, usually indicating compiling clothes we may no longer want or need.

If you find yourself with unwanted gently-used clothes, WE WANT IT! The Carolina Latina/o Collaborative and other partnering organizations are organizing a clothing drive from now to the end of February 2016. After the clothing drive ends we will be celebrating CLC Day by organizing a thrift store where members of the community can then purchase the donated items of clothing for very low prices. Attendees will be able to purchase individual bags, fill them with as much clothing that will fit, and take it home for less than five dollars a bag. All proceed will be given to the Scholars’ Latino Initiative’s scholarship fund.

The main drop-off location is in the UNC Student Union. Starting next semester, there will also be drop-off locations in residence halls on campus. Community members are also invited to donate by contacting us at clc.unc@gmail.com or calling 919-843-5517.
