Josmell J. Pérez

Josmell Pérez, born in Lima, Peru, moved to Northern New Jersey at the age of five. He graduated from Muhlenberg College in 2005 with dual degrees in Psychology and Spanish and later earned his Master’s in Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2012. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Western Carolina University.

Josmell was instrumental in establishing the Carolina Latina/o Collaborative and now serves as the Director of the Carolina Latinx Center. Prior to joining Carolina in 2007, Pérez worked as Assistant Director of Admissions and Multicultural Recruitment at Moravian College, where his efforts led to a significant increase in multicultural student enrollment. He also held a position as an Admissions Counselor at Ohio University, overseeing recruitment in the state’s northwest region.
