Hi! My name is Alex Maturino, and I am a junior majoring in EXSS and Psychology with a minor in Spanish for the Professions on the Medical Track.

I am the president of the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA) at UNC which is a professional development organization. ALPFA is a national organization with the mission to “empower and develop Latino men and women as leaders of character for the nation, in every sector of the global economy.” This club has helped me to expand my network and establish connections with mentors and helped me to develop my professional skills such as how I conduct myself in an interview, how to build my personal brand, get ready for internships and so much more. It is a big ALPFAmilia where all the people you met truly are vested in your success and development. We have hybrid meetings on Thursday nights at 6:00 pm and occasional socials on Tuesday nights at 6:00 pm as well! On our Thursday meetings, we host representatives from big-name companies to give a presentation on professional development!

You can join ALPFA officially through our Heel Life webpage here: https://heellife.unc.edu/organization/alpfauncch

Heel Life will add you to our mailing list which is sent bi-weekly!!

You can join the ALPFA GroupMe which has meeting reminders and other opportunities that come up throughout the semester: https://groupme.com/join_group/65573873/fqrEwg3D
