The UNC Hispanic Student Dental Association (HSDA) is an organization open for membership to Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Candidates and B.S. and M.S. in Dental Hygiene Candidates at the UNC Adams School of Dentistry. We welcome anyone to join the Hispanic Student Dental Association; you do not need to identify as Hispanic/Latinx to join. We offer dental Spanish “classes” called Conversation Cafés and practice reading, speaking and hearing dental terminology in Spanish. We also participate in many outreach activities, including providing oral hygiene instructions in Spanish to the Latinx community, distributing oral hygiene supplies, and we collaborate often with other minority student organizations.
